How can I hire?

A.

Just fill in the availability request form on the website and we will reply same day via e mail.

I’m not from the UK can I drive?

A.

Yes. Non-UK drivers must abide by the conditions of their driving licence to drive in the UK. For all Non-UK European Community drivers, who do not hold a full UK driving licence there is an additional excess charge of £11 per day. For all drivers from outside the EEC, there is also an insurance surcharge of £125 on the vehicle.

How old do I have to be?

A.

All drivers must be between 25 – 70 years of age and have held a full UK driving licence for 2 years.

Drivers aged below 25 years or over 70 years may still be able to hire and drive but we would have to pass on the full drivers information to the hire insurance company and there is usually an additional insurance charge.
For all additional drivers (up to a maximum of 3 drivers) there is also an additional excess of £9 per day for each additional driver holding a UK licence.

Any endorsements, on any drivers licence, will be subject to additional charges. Small endorsements on a drivers licence (e.g. SP30 - speeding offence, will attract a 25% loading to charges (normally £5 per day) and more serious endorsements will attract additional loading). If drivers have had more than 2 accidents in the last 3 years, then additional charges will be applied by the Hire Insurance Company. Additional drivers with endorsements will be subject to additional charges.

What’s included?

A.

The hire cost will always include: VAT, Fully Comprehensive Hire Insurance with a leading UK company, UK Breakdown and Relay Cover, + the first 1,000 miles are free (thereafter £0.15 per mile). We display all prices and charges on our websites and communications and have No Hidden Charges.

Am I insured?

A.

Yes, fully comprehensive and you can add additional named drivers for an additional charge. Personal travel insurance is not included.

What happens if I break down?

A.

Our high standards of maintenance would normally ensure this is never an issue, but, you will have full breakdown cover as part of your hire, just a phone call away.

I’ve never driven a larger vehicle before, is it difficult?

A.

Yes and no. You need to adjust your driving style a little, and allow more time to overtake. Remember, you’re on your holidays, so try not to set yourself tight schedules!

Can I go abroad?

A.

Yes, absolutely. Some of Europe’s most wonderful scenery is best explored in one of our vehicles. There is a £125 surcharge for taking the vehicle abroad to cover the extra insurance costs.

Do I need to pay a security deposit to take the vehicle?

A.

Yes, there is a returnable £1,100 security deposit to ensure the vehicle is returned free from damage. If damage has occurred on hire, then on completion of the hire we will retain the security deposit until we obtain estimates to have the damage repaired. Once these estimates have been obtained (including fitting/repair/mechanics fee’s, as well as all applicable VAT and associated costs incurred) then the remaining sum will be returned to the hirer.

How do I pay for the hire?

A.

Once we have e mailed you with availability, an initial deposit of £300 to confirm the booking is required. This £300 will be deducted from the total charge for the hire. The deposit is normally non-refundable (see Cancellations). The balance + security deposit must be paid before the commencement of the the hire.

A reminder e-mail will be sent to you before the start date. If the balance is not paid by that date, then the hire will be cancelled (with full forfeiture of deposit).

There are 2 easy payment methods and we accept all major debit/credit cards:

  • Paying by Electronic Bank Transfer to our Company UK Account
  • Paying Online via our Secure Paypal Link

How many people can we take?

Up to 4 persons on one vehicle

Do the kids need seatbelts?

A.

This is a very important issue when driving a in the UK. All children under the age of 12 years in the UK (or under 135cm) must use a child safety seat

Do we take our own bedding?

A.

We recommend it (sleeping bags or duvets) but we can also provide sleeping bags & liners plus towels to you if you need, for an additional laundering charge.

Can we cook in the vehicle?

A.

Yes, all our vehicles are supplied with cooker, gas cartridge and water supply plus cooler. You just need to supply your own food and drinks.

What about gas?

A.

It’s easily available in the UK and Europe.

What time do we have to get the vehicle back?

A.

The vehicle needs to be returned on the arranged date before 5pm

Can you pick us up from the airport?

A.

With pleasure, free of charge! (applies to Manchester or Liverpool Airports) We pick you up and take you to our base to collect your camper.

How long will pick-up take?

A.

The handover will always include an ID check (including production by hirer of required identity documents) and the completion of the Hire Contract. You will then have around 30 minutes being shown around the vehicle. This is really important as it will encompass the use of all equipment.

What if I come back early or want to cancel?

A.

Unfortunately there will not be a refund for a vehicle that is returned early from hire. The vehicle would have been out and rented for the full hire term. If you cancel completely the following applies:

  • Up to 12 weeks before start date– Loss of booking fee, normally £300.
  • Between 12 – 8 weeks before start date of Hire– Payment required of 50% of vehicle hire charge and will be charged to Hirer.
  • Between 8 weeks to start date of hire– Payment is required for 75% of vehicle hire charge and will be fully charged to hirer.

This applies from the date the booking is confirmed via e mail. It is advised that all hirers have an adequate travel insurance policy in place that will cover your late cancellation of hire booking. It is also advisable for such a policy to protect hirers against theft of personal belongings etc.

Are there Terms and Conditions of Hire I need to agree to?
